Administration and Faculty
Christine Long – Institutional Director
While working inside the massage profession as a valued administrator and respected employer, Christine brings great talent and insight to the school. Christine has worked in the massage industry in Nashville area for 3 years. During which she was directly involved with the hiring, training, and success of many massage therapists. Her heart is in the training of those that want to heal people and help others.
Dawn Fortune-Brown – Program Director
Dawn attended Massage Therapy school in North Carolina and has had a career as a Licensed Massage Therapist for 12 years. She has been an instructor for Massage Therapy students for 6 years. Dawn has a medical based, therapeutic approach to Massage Therapy. She is a strong proponent of improving the lives of people through education and massage therapy.
Christy Dunbar – Instructor
Twelve years ago, as a new graduate of Elon University, Christy set off to the big city of Chicago to begin a new endeavor in the corporate world. Realizing quickly this was not the career she was yearning for, she stumbled across a massage therapy class from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy. She has never looked back. Christy completed the Clinical Massage Program and has been in the massage industry for nearly 10 years, maintaining her passion throughout. Making the recent transition into education, Christy is excited to share her knowledge, enthusiasm and profound love of massage with our students. Christy’s “spare time” is dedicated to spending time with her long time boyfriend and their beautiful, 2 year old daughter.
Nancy Smith – Instructor
Nancy is married with 4 children. She worked in the healthcare field for 9 years, working 4 years in home care and 5 years in a hospital setting ending with a job as a labor and delivery scrub tech. She later moved to San Antonio, TX where she attended The Academy for Massage Therapy and Training. Since 2008, she has lived in the Nashville Tennessee area. She has been a practicing LMT for 7 years with additional training in Oncology Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, and Hot Stone Massage. She truly enjoys her job. She loves being a part of the educational team and working with up and coming massage therapists.
Breanna Dumke – Instructor
Milwaukee native Breanna Dumke, L.M.T., has been practicing massage since 2007. She is new to the Nashville School of Massage Therapy bringing great energy and charisma. She attended Nashville’s own Natural Health Institute of Massage Therapy and Bodywork where she received over 600 hours of classroom and hands-on training. After graduating, she gained experience in the spa industry and in both private and corporate practice. Breanna has training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Sound/Body Integration, Aromatherapy, Myofascial Release, PNF, and Reflexology using a combination of modalities to help treat her clients. When she isn’t busy working or shooting competitive pool, she enjoys hiking with her dogs.
